ADMISSIONS

application process

Applications for the 2022-2023 school year (beginning late August 2022) are now OPEN!  Please choose your correct track from below:
Music Track (In-Person)
Media Track (In-Person)
SOW-ONLINE Music Track
Each applicant will be asked to answer some questions about themselves, their personal background, spiritual background, current involvement at church, musical abilities, etc. Additionally, each applicant will submit a short video of themselves, agree to our Code of Conduct, and provide the email address of three references. Applicants should receive an admissions decision within two weeks once their application has been fully submitted and all three references have been received back.

application video

You will need to submit a short audition video with your application including the following:

1) Introduce yourself to us. Include your name, where you are from, and a little bit about yourself/your background.
2) Tell us why you want to attend the School of Worship.
3) Include a sample of you playing and/or singing a worship song on your main instrument.

Please note that the video does NOT need to be professionally recorded (i.e., a video from your iPhone is acceptable); however, please make sure that the audio is clear and understandable. Additionally, please make sure all videos are kept under seven minutes in length.

references

You will be required to provide an email address for three different references.
References will then be sent a short questionnaire to fill out online.
References must be from someone outside of your family.
One of your three references must be from a pastor or leader in your church.

spiritual expectations

Every SOW student must:
  • Be a born-again believer
  • Have read and understood the Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa statement of faith
  • Have a consistent walk with the Lord, exhibited by regular church attendance and a life reflecting Acts 2:42
  • Be open to the working, leading, and guiding of the Holy Spirit
  • Recognize that they come under the leadership and accountability of the School of Worship staff
  • Sign the student Code of Ethics
As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
